The Northeast Texas Children's Museum has a host of freshly-painted pastel chairs thanks in part to the efforts of the Commerce Rotary Club.

Mike Roberts organized a group that included Wyman Williams, Gene Lockhart and Jerrod Edelhauser for the purpose of sanding and repainting metal folding chairs for use by the NETXCM.

See the photos from this project.

Many of these chairs had been in use by other organizations and had served in colorful ways in past lives, but today, they're part of a set that allow children a playful place to sit and take part in the "Let's Put On A Show" exhibit at the museum.

The Big Event is an annual community-wide charitable effort to beautify and better the city of Commerce. Projects throughout the day include highway litter cleanup, home repairs, and in some cases, painting chairs. Find more information about The Big Event here.
