The Commerce Rotary Summer Reading Program is a program that is open to all Pre-K through 5th grade students in the area.  The local library is in charge of the theme and all preparation for this six week long program.
The main objectives are to keep school aged children reading throughout the summer months.  The program also engages older students and adults with a Summer Reading Challenge.  We have over 100 parents who are involved each year.  The library gives books to participants for their home library.  Our community is challenged with many low income families who cannot afford books for their homes, this is a great opportunity to help parents out with that and also involve them in the challenge.
